Drawing inspiration from the traumatic removal of a stand of 14 trees right outside my house along the Paulshof Spruit, I used stumps saved from the massacre to create these works that are a "Last stand for the Poplars". Using newspaper, I created a stencil for the negative space before painting the logs with ink and rolling them over the tracing paper to leave their mark.
